While I worked hard for this goal,
There are a few people I would like to recognize,

Although I don't remember much from the marathon,
{I must say, running 26.2 miles does something to your body and mind, haha}
I don't think I'll ever forget the feeling of crossing that finish line:)
All the hard work had finally paid off!:)
Seeing my family at the end during the last stretch,
Crossing the finish line with Hol,
And being awarded my medal by Momma Cannon,
Are memories I'll never forget!:)

I ran the whole marathon today with my best friend Holly,
Thanks friend for pushing me through all the blood, sweat, and tears!
I couldn't of done it without ya!:)
Now come on!
Let's go sign up for another race!;)

One more shout out!:)
To the Elder in Philadelphia,
Thank you for your support and encouragement,
I couldn't of done it without you!:)
{background story}
The night before Sam left on his mission,
We decided to make a poster,
And fill it with goals that we wanted to accomplish while we were apart for 2 years.
One of the goals I put on the poster was,
"RUN A MARATHON!"
This morning as I was leaving my house,
I opened my drawer by my desk looking for some chap stick,
And found some of my,
I LOVE MY MISSIONARY stickers:)
So I stuck one on my heart,
And ran out the door to run my marathon:)
Thanks Sammie for setting goals with me so many months ago:)
Even being so far away,
You continue to push me and help me accomplish goals:)

Thanks to everyone who came and supported me today!:)
Your cheers and smiles pulled me along the way when I thought my feet might not be able to.
My Mom and Sister ran the half today, they did AMAZING!:)

18 Months

Hello There Sammie Eleven Lovers,
My my my...
Has it been awhile or what?!
I'm almost ashamed that I haven't blogged in 3 months...
And that I left you guys hanging on the "Love Letters"
But the past couple of months have been cray!!
{You catchin' my lingo??}
So here is my update,
I'll start from the beginning;)

Five months ago
{during Fall Semester}
I was seriously considering going on a mission.
I had my interview ready to go,
Was already looking into all the cute missionary clothing,
And I was prepared to go wherever the Lord would have me go.
But through all the excitement and willingness to serve,
Something didn't feel right.
And so I decided to go home for Christmas and spend time with the fam and see how I was feeling after the break.
I continued to ponder about the decision through the Winter Semester,
And continued to prepare.
I realize now that I received my answer many months ago whether I was to serve or not.
And the answer was and is still no.
Although I have such a desire to serve,
I know a mission is not what I'm suppose to be doing right now,
And guess what,
I'm ok with that:)

Next,
I'M AN AUNT!!!:D
I'm pretty sure I have more pictures of my little Ellie then I do of Sam.
Ok...
Maybe not...
But little Ellie is coming very close to having more, hehe!!
{hint hint to my missionary,
you best be sending some more pics;)}
The Hawker Fam is quite obsessed with little Ellie,
And we are so so happy she is here with us:)
We are enjoying her to pieces:)
WE LOVE YOU ELLIE!!!

Thirdly,
I'm in the last semester of the Medical Assisting Program!
HOORAY!:D
This is partially why I haven't blogged in many months...
School seems to suck all the time you have in your life,
And at the end of the day when I had thoughts to blog...
Sleep sounded more appetizing,
Hehe:)
School is busy,
But school is oh so wonderful!
I feel blessed to be here at BYU-Idaho:)

But enough about me,
Can we talk about Sam already?!
Today Sam has reached 18 MONTHS!!!!!:D
Wow.
Wow.
Wow.
WOW!!!
A month I thought existed only in other Missionary Girlfriend blogs is finally here!!
Folks,
This journey and adventure has been amazing,
And although I never want to wait for another Missionary,
I would do it again in a heartbeat for Sam:)
The last 6 months are here,
And I am beyond excited:)
I guess this is the time when I should start,
. Going to the gym and pumping some iron
. Familiarize myself on how to get ready for the day again
AND
. Start watching Homecoming Videos
{They used to make me sad when Sam had only been out for a few months, but time has changed, I think I would like them now;)}
The list continues on,
But I'll stop there for today:)

Can I tell you guys something?
I have learned a lot.
A lot about myself mostly.
I have lived my life these past 18 months,
I've gone away to school and started a career,
Learned how to cook,
{ok still working on that one}
Dated,
Gone through trials,
And experienced many triumphant moments along the way!
While things have changed with me though,
My feelings for my Elder Cannon in Philadelphia haven't.
With each day,
Letter,
E-mail,
And monthly countdown,
I love that missionary of mine more and more!:)
{Ok, excuse the mushy gushy-ness, I haven't posted in awhile;)}

But that's exactly why I'm still here.
My feelings haven't changed,
They have just gotten stronger for Sam.
The answer to a mission was no for a reason,
The answer to the few people I went on dates with, didn't work out for a reason,
Continuing my education and waiting is exactly what I'm supposed to be doing,
And I'm so happy to do it:)

So Elder C,
When you read this sometime down the road,
I hope you know,
How proud of you I am.
How much I have missed you.
And just how excited I am for these next 6 months:)

Let the countdown continue...
This Missionary Girlfriend is still waiting patiently for her boy!:)
I hope you guys have been keepin' it classy,
I know I haven't been here to much to remind ya;)
